A Content Writer and Words: Food for the Monster

There are a number of different parts of SEO that search engines find particularly delicious (keywords being one of their favorites), but no matter how you look s at search engines, they love content. A good content writer would do well to serve up heaping portions of words on their site.

While pictures, video, and sound can add dimension to a website, words are what the search engines go after and what will ultimately get the most people to your site. This fact is the reason why having an excellent website content writer crafting words and placing them on your site is very important. In some situations it’s possible to achieve high search engine rankings with a small number of keyword-laden pages, but for most of the companies on the web this isn’t an option.

So what content should go up on the site? Content writers should, of course, focus on placing content up about the product or service first. Generally that should place an adequate amount of content on a site, but the product and service can only be written about so much. Once the company has received adequate face time, there are several other options a content writer can explore to bulk up a site.

Blog
As far as content writing is concerned, blogs are an easy and fast way to deliver additional content to your site while also effectively utilizing SEO techniques. Blogs can be brief, 300 word blurbs with keywords that concern subjects relevant to your company. Additionally, blogs offer the opportunity for potential customers and clients to interact with your content. See our Blog writing article for additional tips.

Articles
Another way to present content is by crafting articles, which are traditionally more informative, longer in word count and less casual than blogs. Articles may be written about your company’s services or products and should include factual, researched information. The bonus is that you can submit articles to popular share sites like Facebook, Twitter or Digg.

Case Studies
Don’t want to make overt claims about your business? Why not present your users with case studies that highlight your successes? Case studies are an excellent way to establish trust and authority with your users, but must provide honest information in a short format.

Reviewing Products and Web Sites
A content writer can add clever SEO bulk by reviewing relevant web sites and products. An added bonus for giving the nod to a website or product is that particular company could end up promoting you as well.
